Glorifying God

Updated: Apr 11, 2022

As I was reflecting last night in the aftermath of my post, I felt God prompt me to begin a series of posts simply entitled, Thought of the Day. I can't promise that I'll be doing this every day, but when I feel a prompting and that God has given me a word to share with the community, I'll make another post in this series.

I Will Exalt You:

Echoing some of the thoughts from my post last night, this song simply proclaims, "I will exalt You - You are my God." In Genesis it says that humanity was made in the image of God. If we are reflections of God, then our purpose in life must be to reflect God. We are called to glorify God through our actions, our words, and our thoughts to everyone, both in public and in private. We are called to exalt Him and to lift His Name high so that everyone can see the reality of who God is - our hiding place, our safe refuge, our treasure, our Friend, our King, Anointed One, Most Holy. He is the God of paradoxes who can turn lives around and make the impossible possible. He is love incarnate, and the very source of all good things that are in our world. He is the light in the darkness, warmth in the cold, and He walks with us by His Spirit through every moment of every day, whether we realise it or not. We have no need to fear, because He is with us.

We are called to glorify God and lift His Name high. God has done miraculous things in my life, and so I'm taking up the call to make my life a reflection of Him. I won't always get it right, because I'm still flawed and human, but I will try my best by God's grace. Who else will join me?
